About Morham & Brotchie
Alan and John met in Oban and joined forces to re-establish the name of Morham & Brotchie in Edinburgh. Morham & Brotchie was reformed in Edinburgh in 1990 as a Partnership and since that time John and Alan have developed a traditional Quantity Surveying Practice which has grown steadily from its founder members and now employs a further 11 surveyors.
The business changed from Partnership to Limited status in 2007.
The workload of the practice varies extensively, encompassing contracts for listed and historic buildings, car showrooms, hotel extensions and conversions, university and school projects, housing, upgrading of an existing listed harbour, garden rooms, laboratories, to name but a few.
The Practice has, over the years, gained considerable experience and a reputation for its involvement in projects on Listed and Historic Buildings and has advised on literally hundreds of such projects including several award winning buildings, examples being 26-31 Charlotte Square Edinburgh, Dance Base Edinburgh, The Tolbooth Stirling and An Turas Tiree.
At the other end of the spectrum, the practice has also built up considerable experience of Scientific and Research Buildings including projects on laboratory buildings in Dundee, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Ellesmere Port.
